Pony Lyrics

You hold your head up to the sky
You say what kind of blue are you? Are you?
Then you ride your pony 'round and 'round
It’s diggin’ a hole, right through, right through

You stumble down a yellow brick road,
Spinning your shoes in the air, the air.

Then you, hold your breath, and count to nine,
Hoping that soon somebody will find you, find you,

Go on, go on, go on, the stars are watching,
Just say, just say, just say, what you’re feeling,
You know, you know, you know, you gotta take a bow and do it your way,
It’s okay-ay, ladadadadadadadada, it’s okay-ay, ladadadadadadadada

You’re 15 miles over the speed,
You’re going fast as you can after your daydream
Ohh

I might get sad, hurried away
Or have a serious talk with your, champaigne.

Go on, go on, go on, the stars are watching,
Just say, just say, just say, what you’re feeling,
You know, you know, you know, you gotta take a bow and do it your way,
It’s okay-ay, ladadadadadadadada, it’s okay-ay, ladadadadadadadada

It’s time for you to prove,
Within your ruby shoes
You deserve a smile with no regret,
Look at you,
Kicking off your shoes,
Dancing for the world to see,
You got the power to believe,
Open up and see,
And I’ll be free and fly away-aaayyy,

Go on, go on, go on, the stars are watching,
Just say, just say, just say, what you’re feeling,
You know, you know, you know, you gotta take a bow and do it your way,
It’s okay-aaaayyy, ladadadadadadadada, it’s okay-aaaayyy, ladadadadadadadada
It’s okay-aaaayyy, ladada ladada, it’s okay-aaaayyy, ladadadadadadadada

I can't believe her songs don't have that many comments! She's amazing, I've listened to her album like 50,000 times.

Anyway, I think this song is about just relaxing and letting go of the things that are stressing you out. It's so amazing. I love it.

I think this song is about self-discovery and self-acceptance. It seems like it's about Erin and her choice to become a singer and putting herself out in the public eye. She learns to become comfortable with herself and just be herself.

This song is simply amazing. I got it free on iTunes a day before New Year's and I listened to it almost non stop on the first day of 2009. It's perfect as a New Year's Day type of song. It's a song is about doing something new, or at least that's how I interpret it. It's about doing something new, taking a risk, opening up. It can, as irishdoll86 stated be about Erin herself becoming a mainstream singer or attempts to do so. The best part of the song is its opening beat...it sounds like a typewriter, so addictive.

I think the third line of the second verse goes, "On your mark, get set, hurry away..."

I love this song, it's probably one of my all-time favorites. I think it's pretty simple to understand - she just wants to accept and be herself. The lyrics are so beautifully written, and they can have multiple meanings if you think about it differently, and it's not just the teenybopper "I'm gonna be myself" crap.

My Opinion

my god, her songs are hard to understand. sometimes i think she just threw a bunch of phrases together without thinking.

"you gotta take a bow and do it your way" pretty self explanatory, its about self belief and acceptance :)

I love this song :D The lyrics remind me a little of childhood memories... like the first verse reminds me of when you were a kid and playing, and "Have a serious talk with your champagne" seems to represent growing up.
