Undeclared Lyrics

I like the way you hold your head
If your brother knew, he'd have my head
But I wouldn't care if I was dead
If I had the chance to hold your hand
But my love goes undeclared
Yeah, my love goes undeclared
And my love goes undeclared
Yeah, my love goes undeclared

You let me stay here for a week
On your couch but I would rather sleep
In your bed, or even better yet
We could run away and never rest
But my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared

You come to me out of a dream
And you run around like you just can't be
'cause your mind is filled with fantasies
And it makes me laugh and it comforts me
But my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared

You give me your insanity
But I think it might be vanity
'cause you want what you can't have for free
And you don't know what it means to me
So my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared
Yeah, my love stays undeclared

I thought that the feeling was reciprocal, and the tragedy was that neither of them said anything.

I love this song. I agree with Locke01 that the feeling was reciprocal. I think the first two verses is supposed to be the boy speaking and the last two verses is the girl talking.

My Interpretation

A simple song about simple fantasy. The girl (second half) is the boy's friend's younger sister. The boy (first half) is crashing sister & friend's couch for a week, so he is likely a bit of a traveler. During his stay, unspoken feelings develop in the boy and the girl. The girl is young, innocent, curious, and just out of reach because of her relationship to the friend (brother) and possibly by her age as well.

The song expresses the undeclared longings each character harbors for the another in a beautifully honest and innocent way.

I feel like the last verse

"You give me your insanity But I think it might be vanity 'cause you want what you can't have for free And you don't know what it means to me"

I feel like that last verse doesn't really have the longing for love that the other verses have. I think the female character does love the guy but realizes that he isn't right for her and that is why her love goes undeclared.

This song is so sweet. Pretty simple, I think it's about being in love with someone but not telling anyone. M aybe his brother's girlfriend?

I agree, a self-explanatory but nice song. He probably has fallen in love with a friend but she is not interested, wants other things... So he keeps his feelings a secret.

Except it says, "If your brother knew." Which to me means he's in love with his friends sister. And I can relate to that.

I can't find it anywhere, but that's definitely Death Vessel singing the second part, right?
