This song is just a good all around epic pirate drinking song. I wouldn't really give much meaning to the lyrics besides what they state plainly as an awesome formula for life: Get drunk, bang chicks. Wake up, Go on a mighty quest. Rinse and repeat.

point is, an pirate's life is harsh, hard, and not all that cheery as everyone believed. sure they'd would go on partying but that depends if your mates are like to party or not. but surprisingly like any other sailors, crews gets along it just depend if one is greedier than the others. the captain, well captain is captain.

Honestly, I prefer the German version, but I don't speak German. Great song though
