Acoustic Song Lyrics
We live and die like all the rest
Every summer has its sunset every year
Love and hope put to the test
Every grain of comfort holds the seed of fear
And I loved you long ago
And I love you still
But the roads that we have travelled took us far apart
Scattered to the four winds
Someday we will find the time to heal
And I loved you long ago
[SOLO]
And the scars that bear my name
are the wounds that never heal
But the road that we have travelled took us far apart
And I love you still
And I loved you long ago
Every summer has its sunset every year
Love and hope put to the test
Every grain of comfort holds the seed of fear
And I love you still
But the roads that we have travelled took us far apart
Scattered to the four winds
Someday we will find the time to heal
are the wounds that never heal
But the road that we have travelled took us far apart
And I love you still

beautiful song about lost love
Bruce's solo work is so much more emotional than what he does in Iron Maiden.Suprised to only see one comment on this song even though it is an obscure one. There was a girl I took to a Jerry Cantrell concert in Chicago back in 2002 when I was 26.I only seen her a few times after that due to "the roads that we have travelled took us far apart" and I still think about her ALL THE TIME!!!!!Bruce really knows how to put it in perspective because I love her still. It's kind of theapeutic to have this song to listen to!lets me know i'm not the only one out there that's been through that sort of thing.
When I posted first comment, I was very surprised that anyone commented this magnificient song earlier. I agree with your point of view - Dickinson (in his solo career, but not only) knows how to show and explain things he sings about. eh ... amazing artist :)
this is a beautiful song, and sadly not well known, at least in my area :-/
i agree with the posters above, dickinson's work outside of maiden is amazing.
this song describes my relationship with my ex-fiancee perfectly, towards the end, we started to go separate ways and we are far apart now, but i still think about her and care about her.
dickinson's lyrics are amazing, one of my all time favorite artists.
