Just as a bleeding wound dries
I found a road, and left home
And as the mountain is high
I took your tears and went on
Tears sing for sleep
But lonely nights weep
You know my heart is falling asleep
And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you
And I know my heart has fallen asleep
And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you
And I'll change to see you
Remembering every disguise
I found a way to lead on
Just as my heart has run dry
With blood and bone I miss home
Tears sing for sleep
But lonely nights weep
You know my heart is falling asleep
And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you
And I know my heart has fallen asleep
And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
Just as a bleeding wound dries
I took your tears and went on
You know my heart is falling asleep
And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you
And I know my heart has fallen asleep
And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
I found a road, and left home
And as the mountain is high
I took your tears and went on
But lonely nights weep
And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you
And I know my heart has fallen asleep
And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you
I found a way to lead on
Just as my heart has run dry
With blood and bone I miss home
But lonely nights weep
And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you
And I know my heart has fallen asleep
And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
I took your tears and went on
And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you
And I know my heart has fallen asleep
And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again
Falling asleep again

"Just as a bleeding wound dries I found a road, and left home"
Perhaps this pertains to leaving your home when you're old enough?
"And as the mountain is high I took your tears and went on"
Maybe this is the friends and family being sad about them leaving.
"You know my heart is falling asleep And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you And I know my heart has fallen asleep And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you"
A person is grieving about leaving their home, but won't admit it. But the Lord is always with them, even if they have to leave other loved ones behind. "Remembering every disguise I found a way to lead on Just as my heart has run dry With blood and bone I miss home"
Self explanitory if my general assumption about the song is correct. The "falling alseep" part may be about closing their heart to everyone as a pat of thei grieving... I love this song. Brilliantly sung...
There isn't another album quite like this. I think "home" is in place of Fellowship with God.
I can relate to this song. It's like when your heart falls asleep and you no longer abide in God's Presence. You still go through the motions, but without actually allowing God's heart to reach yours.
You realize it's happening, but you don't really do anything about it. You become complacent with where you are. The line "And you'd paint the sky, to see me believe you," is so amazing. Mainly because God has already painted the sky, yet we fail to see God in his majestic creation.
He also notes in the song "And you'll still remain, and I'll change to see you." It's the statement we either profess with our mouth or our hearts. We know that God never changes his stance, so we are the ones that have to change. So we say "I'll change when I'm ready."
These songs really speak to me. They are sort of my testimony.
