driven out of bed with bright eyes
and yellow starlight,
fighting for a ghost of clarity
that slowly comes to me
by throwin' on a shirt and jeans
and a look of innocence
the red skies and gasoline
in the radiance,
burnin' on a stretch of concrete,
with a racin' heartbeat
tradin' in my years for hours
with the gods and cowards
and somewhere at the end of it

she points into the infinite,
