Bubble Gum World Lyrics

It’s all in your head, my boy…
Never think your dead, my boy
It’s all how you live your life each day.
Daddy was cruel to you-
But your momma got you through… the pain…
…the pain

You never care
What time it is…
When you’re looking for a girl...
So you where your watch
So you’ll know
It’s not your time-
To show, I said, it’s not your time…

To show…

You think you know right from wrong
You think you’re head is strong…okay…
It’s how we get away.
And you know how small we are
Then you stole that candy bar…okay…
But how’d you get away?

You never care
What time it is…
When you’re looking for a girl...
So you where your watch
So you’ll know
It’s not your time-
To show, I said, it’s not your time…

To show…

No, no, no

It’s a bubble gum world
That we blow up…everyday…
Now if you blow it too hard
It’ll burst and cover your face
Now it’s a bubble gum world-
But if you learn to breathe it’s-

-air, it will bounce you back onto your…feet…

And show you how strong a bubble…
Show you how strong a bubble…

Can be…

(Yeah…)

You never care
What time it is…
When you’re looking for a girl...
So you where your watch
So you’ll know
It’s not your time-
To show, I said, it’s not your time…

To show…

It’s a bubble gum world
That we blow up…everyday…
Now if you blow it too hard
It’ll burst and cover your face
Now it’s a bubble gum world-
But if you learn to breathe it’s-
-air, it will bounce you back onto your…feet…

And show you how strong a bubble…
Show you how strong a bubble…

Can…be…

(Can be…)

It’s a bubble gum world…

Cover art for Bubble Gum World lyrics by Andy Tubman

I think this song means that there comes a time where we all must grow out of our little innocent bubbles and take on the world. As children we see the world as such a linear and simple thing with all our plans and goals in mind. Then there comes the day where some teacher, parent, authority says the saying- You know it, join in, "That's life" which seems to be the excuse for every bit of injustice out there.

I think the message for this song is to hang on to that bubble and never give up on the ideals we had as children. Despite all that will become of us, we're still the same person.
