Left Us Falling Lyrics

I'm falling just as fast as you

When all that's left is blame
There is nothing to do but escape
The light burned out on us a few weeks back
The light burned out on us a few weeks ago
Lucky for us, lucky for us

Hopelessness has left us falling
Don't look to me, I'm falling just as fast as you

I wish I could help you honey
I really do, but just what am I to do
If we really are one in the same
And we have forced each other
Into all of these mistakes
We're gonna need somebody else to do our saving

Hopelessness has left us falling
With nothing to cling to
Don't look to me, I'm falling just as fast
Hopelessness has left us falling
Don't look to me, I'm falling just as fast as you

The vultures are set on my flesh
They're tearing at the faith in my chest

pretty sure this is about a relationship not working out.

it isn't about a relationship not working out... but it is about a relationship of some kind. when we are sinning, or spiraling in despair, when hopelessness is all we know. We can not look to our friends for help. we are all human and have the same faults, how can someone else, who is dealing with the same thing, possibly pull us out? We need to look to God when we are falling.

The last lines are pretty powerful too. It seems sometimes in life when we are at our lowest, others seem to take pleasure in this instead of helping you out. Especially as a Christian, it seems that others may feel that you can't fail or falter, and if you do, somehow you are a hypocrite or something.
