i think this song is about hoping to get back with / get over an ex or getting through an argument.

Awesome song. I dnt completely understand but i get the impression its of some guy whos unsure whether or not his realtionship with the girl whos 'so cold' is worth maintaining. If anyone actually knows what this is about it would really help : D

I think where it says 'let me in from the rain' Means his relationship or whatever, is breaking down and he doesn't want to be alone anymore. He doesn't want the girl to put a wall between them, therefore he wnats ina nd to be never let go.

But later on he realises how cold she is and wants her to fade away.

id say its about the girl in the relationship being distant so the guy is telling her not to let go, and still be with him but deep inside he really does want her to let go so they can move on with their lives and get out of this messy relationship. hes "about to fold" it means hes about to give up on their relationship so if she decides she doesn't want him anymore, he's telling her that she doesn't have to say anything or "waste her breath" on him, they can keep ignoring each other until she "fades away" from his life.
