Some Jingle Jangle Morning Lyrics
Song about a sun beam
Song about a girl
Your voice still rings and echoes in my mind
So many words unspoken
So many worlds apart
Your memory is all you left behind
Somewhere it all got crazy
And now it's like a dream
And I knew that I blew it from the start
I was too freaked out to deal with it all
And too fucked up to care
I stood right there and watched it fall apart
Now LSD and Ecstasy don't help me
And my dance with Mr. Brownstone got too rough
Will you wake me without warning
Some jingle-jangle morning?
We'll fly away to heaven on a star
'Cause I love to watch you walk
And I love to hear you talk
But there's nothing I can say
To make you feel the same way
Now my friends are all I have now
But they're so far away
They all moved out of Seattle and back to L.A.
They ask me how I'm doing
And I ask them if they've seen you
But no one sees much of anyone these days
Now LSD and Ecstasy don't help me
And my dance with Mr. Brownstone got too rough
Will you wake me without warning
Some jingle-jangle morning?
We'll fly away to heaven on a star
'Cause I love to watch you walk
And I love to hear you talk
But there's nothing I can say
To make you feel the same way
Song about a girl
Your voice still rings and echoes in my mind
So many words unspoken
So many worlds apart
Your memory is all you left behind
And now it's like a dream
And I knew that I blew it from the start

And too fucked up to care

And my dance with Mr. Brownstone got too rough

this song is obviously about Kurt Cobain which Mary Lou Lord claims to have had a relationship/friendship with him. The first lines Song about a sun beam Song about a girl are obvious references to Nirvana songs "Jesus dont want me for a sunbeam" and "About a girl" references to Seattle and Drugs are also key giveaways. I like this song and the homage to Bob Dylans Mr Tamborine man are great, Its a sad testament to a broken friendship or an old life and how hard it is to let go.
Its really a shame that only one person has commented on this song. Maybe its about Kurt. Who knows. Sad & Beautiful & in the past two days I can not stop listening to it.
Mary Lou Lord has confirmed this song is indeed about Kurt, in more than one interview and on her FB page.
My girlfriend recently became obsessed with Kurt Cobain. She’s younger than me and didn’t grow up with Nirvana, and was in a strict Christian family. Anyway, she is really obsessed with Kurt / Courtney, to my dismay, since I’ve always regarded Courtney as a poser musician.
Anyway, my gfs interest led me to Mary Lou’s song. I expected to hate it or at least be disappointed, but it’s actually pretty good and catchy. She seems to list a lot of her influences, and I’m guessing Black Tambourine is one...for this song anyway. And of course, this is about Cobain.
I’m oddly touched by this tune, nostalgic for the time in ‘91 when I turned down my chance to see Nirvana in Philly...because my friend said they were a frat band. Years later, another friend described meeting Cobain after a show (Hole opened for his band) and described Kurt as a very cool guy (and described Grohl as a dick!). Anyway, after reading Mary Lou’s story about riding Kurt around on the back of her bike, I’ve got a lovely sound track to that image. If things had gone differently with them, maybe he’d still be around.
Good song, Mary Lou.
