To me this song is about the contrast between the speaker and Lisa, who might be his wife.
In the town I'm from its pretty normal that people go to the local bar and get drunk and make a fool of yourself in general; the last one I bothered going to, the girl whos birthday we were celebrating was, by the end of the night, a mess and being taken advantage of men.
