i'm going to go out on a limb and say the only reason pretty much anyone has ever heard of this song is because of Guitar Hero III. talk shit about the game if you will, but it's an undeniable fact that the Guitar Hero games have exposed the public to a lot of music that would otherwise remain unknown.
GH fan, but also isn't it a good thing bands that wouldn't be getting attention like this, GET attention through a video game? More people should play Guitar Hero Lol. :)

Yes, I heard it first on Guitar Hero, but the important thing (imo) is that I'm still listening to this song. I no longer play GH.

I freakin' love this song. I also found out about it on GH3, but I still love this song and that's all that matters. I agree that it is important for people to find out about fantastic songs like this song, even if it be through a video game, lol.
