This is my 2nd to favorite song from Sara Bareilles (the favorite being Gravity). Sara needs to release a studio version of this song.
this song is beautiful. i think its about how she is in a relationship with someone on and off and she loves him but he doesn't love her the way she thought or he said he did. but she can't just forget and doesn't even want to.
Sara does not need to release a studio version of this. It's fine the way it is. If she releases a study version it will turn out decent/bad just like the studio versions of One Sweet Love, Gravity and City.
Pretty much it's about her still constantly thinking about a past relationship she was once in. She thought was completely in love and even thought about marriage. She thought he would always love her but she was wrong...hence the "before i ever knew better"
It's about her needing to get over someone but she doesn't know how. She's trying to forget him but the memories of him are still so fresh in her mind and she can't get him out of her head. She thought she was in love but she now she knows she didn't really know what love was. He seemed like he meant everything he said but that's only because she didn't know he could lie. She knows she wouldn't take him back but she still can't see him with anyone else. She's curious about what she'd be like and if she'd be better off if she'd never loved him, even though they're not still in love.
Beautiful song, definately one of my favorites from her. I can relate to it a little more than I want to.
