A Shadow On The Wall Lyrics
I've got my reasons
I've got my seasons
And you will never make me change
I've got my mother
And my father
The shadow on the wall of the cave
A sudden freedom
I shed the demon
I bask in the light of the day
Analytical
Metaphysical
A shadow on the wall of the cave
Do you believe this fool?
He will deceive you
I'm taking them back, I'm having a laugh
We can make it happen
I've got my reasons
I've got my seasons
You will never make me change
I've got my mother
And my father
The shadow on the wall of the cave
Do you believe this fool?
He will deceive you
I'm taking them back, I'm having a laugh
We can make it happen
I've got my seasons
And you will never make me change
I've got my mother
And my father
The shadow on the wall of the cave
I shed the demon
I bask in the light of the day
Analytical
Metaphysical
A shadow on the wall of the cave
He will deceive you
We can make it happen
I've got my seasons
You will never make me change
I've got my mother
And my father
The shadow on the wall of the cave
He will deceive you
We can make it happen

Anyone else see the parallels to Plato's Allegory of the Cave? It's all about how if you lived your life in a cave you would never even consider what a different way of living could be like, and you wouldn't grasp the concept of the sun.
This song seems like a dialogue between a controversial, open-minded thinker like Plato and the general group of a conservative society who refuses to see another point of view. But that's just my take on it.
