Trading Heartbeats Lyrics
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
You're just changing the person between your sheets
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
That's fine with me.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah yeah.
Tell your friends not to speak until they're sober
Their words slip as their inhibitions lower
My lips are sealed, but you still speak in fiction
So keep telling your stories, even though I'll never listen
I heard the bad news, I heard all about you
It's not what you did, it's just what you do.
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
You're just changing the person between your sheets
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
That's fine with me.
I've got you right down to the bone
But I don't let my feelings show
But I still remember all the long drives home
We sing, we sing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah yeah.
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
You're just changing the person between your sheets
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
That's fine with me.
Oh, oh.
Give it up and just let it go
What you had you will never know
The reason is right, but the feelings are wrong
Now we sing to a different song.
Do you remember when we sang?
Do you remember when we sang?
Do you remember when we sang?
We sang, we sang...
Whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah.
You're just trading heartbeats, baby
You're just changing the person between your...

Tell your friends not to speak until they're sober They would slip as their inhibitions lower
"their words slip as their inhibitions lower."
gosh, this song is so cute. i love the way they redid it on the new CD even though the original version is good too. ;D
This needs more comments! :O
It's pretty obvious about what this song's about. "You're just trading heartbeats, baby. You're just changing the person between your sheets."
dave's mom was such a compulsive liar when he was growing up that he used to get reallyreally mad at her. then they would get in to HUGE fights and she would leave and go out and get drunk. and she would come home and tell him her stories about the bar. but he wouldnt listen. and then she was drinking one night and she got a heart attack and had to have open heart surgery. and she kept having to get new hearts "trading heartbeats" and she kept making her sheets dirty so she kept getting new sheets and giving her old ones to her friends. "changing the person between the sheets" and then on the car rides home from the hospital they always sing together cause she was alive. and she always promise she would never drink again, but she did. and it kept goi9ng on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. that was the last time though.
i met the lead singer at warped tour, he was walking around selling this CD and he came up to us.
he was reallly nice, and i bought the CD for $5 :)
anyways, it kind of sounds like he's saying You're just trading heartbeats, baby You're just changing the verse inbetween your sheets
it makes sense, listen closely.
i think its about a boy who had feelings for his gal friend but all she does now is get drunk and have one night stands and thats ok with him but he does wish she was like she used to be because she could have had him :)
What you had you will never know The reason is right, but the feelings are wrong Now we sing to a different song. xD
@Ellie: Whhhhaaattttt?
I think it's about an ex-girlfriend or something? "I still remember all the long drives home." "What you had, you will never know."
And now she's a slut and just sleeps around. "You're just changing the person between your sheets."
His attitude is just like, whatever I don't care. But he's still reminiscing on the good times. "Do you remember when we sang?" etc.
