I Have Friends In Holy Spaces Lyrics
You remind me of a former love
That I once knew
And you carry little peace with you
We were holding hands
Walking through the middle of the street
It's fine with me
I'm just taking in the scenery
You remind me of
A few of my famous friends
Well, that all depends
On what you qualify as friends
You remind me of
A few of my famous friends
Well, that all depends
On what you qualify as friends
Take a chance, take your shoes off
Dance in the rain
And I was splashing around
And the news spread all over town
I'm not complaining that it's raining
I'm just saying that I like it a lot
More than you think
If the sun would come out
And sing with me
You remind me of
A few of my famous friends
Well, that all depends
On what you qualify as friends
You remind me of
A few of my famous friends
Well, that all depends
On what you qualify as friends
That I once knew
And you carry little peace with you
We were holding hands
Walking through the middle of the street
It's fine with me
I'm just taking in the scenery
A few of my famous friends
Well, that all depends
On what you qualify as friends
You remind me of
A few of my famous friends
Well, that all depends
On what you qualify as friends
Dance in the rain
And I was splashing around
And the news spread all over town
I'm not complaining that it's raining

Brendon said this: "The song is about the sort of characters--real or fictional--in my experience that I've known, that can have certain tendencies to act certain ways and show a certain side of themselves that people usually don't want to see."

I believe it goes:
"You remind me of a former love. That I once knew. And you carry A LITTLE PIECE with you."
and
"YEA, WE WERE splashing around, and the news spread all over town."
and
"I'm just saying that I'D LIKE it A LOT more than you think, if the sun would come out and sing with me."
This song totally reminds me of a singer from back in the day, like maybe Frank Sinatra? And just so everyne knows, Brendon is credited as the song writer for this one in the cd booklet thing.
I think it's about some girl he meets, but she's way into the "celebrity/famous" way of life and far too caught up in those matters like some of his other famous friends. Furthermore, he's relaized some of his friends aren't really his friends...they're all there for the "celebrity/famous" thing as well. He just wishes she could act herself ("Take a chance, take your shoes off, come dance in the rain.") and not be afriad of what everyone will think.
AAAAHHH I LOOOOOVEEE THIS SONG!!!! and i agree w/ devin also... i playz the clarinet... im gonna try & do that...
