I Don't Want to Talk About It Lyrics

I can tell by your eyes that you've probably been crying forever,
and the stars in the sky don't mean nothing to you, they're a mirror.
I don't want to talk about it, how you broke my heart.
If I stay here just a little bit longer,
If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, oh my heart?

If I stand all alone, will the shadow hide the color of my heart;
blue for the tears, black for the night's fears.
The star in the sky don't mean nothing to you, they're a mirror.
I don't want to talk about it, how you broke my heart.
If I stay here just a little bit longer,
if I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, oh my heart?
my heart, oh my heart, this old heart.

I don't want to talk about it, how you broke my heart
If I stay here just a little bit longer,
if I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, oh my heart?
My heart, oh my heart.

Cover art for I Don't Want to Talk About It lyrics by Crazy Horse

It's about when someone breaks your heart, they leave you, and you're just left with this unbearable grief and sorrow that makes it hard to even speak about it with others. The kind that chokes you up if you even begin to think about it before you get the courage to say a word about it to your friends/family/strangers.

It's hard to remember a lost love.. Beautiful song indeed. Achingly.

Correction to the second verse: Blue for the tears, black for the nights we're apart And the stars don't mean nothing to you, they're a mirror

Also, Whitten never sings "oh my heart," just alternates between "oh heart" and "my heart," and he doesn't sing "this old heart" at all (in fact, he doesn't sing anything where you have that).
