We're Looking For a Lot Of Love Lyrics
This town's been raining for too long
For me to find my way to you
You see me everywhere
I see you in my boots
And in my hair and in my care
For you is such that we could
Never find another way to be
Every time that we walk the streets
I try my best to keep up with the beat
You're everything that I never could keep
I hear the sound and it starts to repeat
Oh, oh oh
It's there in everywhere that we could meet
And even when we're out of sorts
We carry you, I always talk so
Just a sport to move towards our love
Every time that we walk the streets
I try my best to keep up with the beat
You're everything that I never could keep
I hear the sound and it starts to repeat
Oh, oh oh
Underneath a Bodhi tree
That is where she brought me
That is where she bound me
Nobody found me
Underneath a Bodhi tree
That is where she brought me
That is where she bound me
Nobody found me
For me to find my way to you
You see me everywhere
I see you in my boots
And in my hair and in my care
For you is such that we could
Never find another way to be
I try my best to keep up with the beat
You're everything that I never could keep
I hear the sound and it starts to repeat
And even when we're out of sorts
Just a sport to move towards our love
I try my best to keep up with the beat
You're everything that I never could keep
I hear the sound and it starts to repeat
That is where she brought me
That is where she bound me
Nobody found me
That is where she brought me
That is where she bound me
Nobody found me

insanely sad.
this is a very lovely song...
"And in my hair and in my pair" Pair = care, I'm pretty sure. Pair would mean balls and I don't think that fits with the mood of the song. lol. (Plus it would make sense when you say it with the line after: "and in my care for you")
"Never find the lover way to be" is "Never find another way to be"
"We carry you, I always talk so Just a sport to move toward" I don't think it's "talk so," but I can't really hear what he's saying. And the second line is unfinished, it's "just a sport to move towards our love"
just the bit where he sings the first line or so, thats especially beautiful.
I could be wrong but instead of burning tree it sounds more like bodhi tree. If so it's pretty significant to understanding the meaning of the song.
Yeah its bohdi tree not burning tree. Such an excellent song....
Maybe it's just me but i always thought it was clever,

the first time it sounds like (since you can easily hear the 'd') "Underneath the budding/bodhi tree, That is where she brought me..."

the second time it sounds like (since there is harder to hear a 'd') "Underneath the burning tree, That is where she brought me..."

obviously this would mark the passage of time (budding/bodhi -> burning) and this would make the refrain important to the song. It marks the progression from creation to destruction and the clever thing is they hid this...
obviously this would mark the passage of time (budding/bodhi -> burning) and this would make the refrain important to the song. It marks the progression from creation to destruction and the clever thing is they hid this in words that sound nearly identical. It now seems like this wasn't intended, but when i first heard it I thought they were geniuses
(But notice, they do the same thing with 'bound/found' which also sound nearly identical but twist the meanings in a similar way)
It's almost like listening to madvillain

I don't think it's sad. Just incredibly beautiful. Hot Chips best song.
