Drive On, Driver Lyrics
Drive on, driver
There's no one home
We've waited hours
she didn't come
It's such a pretty little ring
But it doesn't mean anything
Drive on
Drive on, driver
and don't you cry
I gave her everything money could buy
I always said that girl'd
deserved the whole wide world
Drive on
and take me to the airport
I need to be extremely far away
so I can forget about her
I might forget about her someday
Drive on, Randy
It's all gone wrong
Have some brandy
Sing me a song
Something soft and low
Can we please just go?
Drive on...
There's no one home
We've waited hours
she didn't come
It's such a pretty little ring
But it doesn't mean anything
Drive on
and don't you cry
I gave her everything money could buy
I always said that girl'd
deserved the whole wide world
Drive on
I need to be extremely far away
so I can forget about her
I might forget about her someday
It's all gone wrong
Have some brandy
Sing me a song
Something soft and low
Can we please just go?
Drive on...

fantastic. I absolutely love it. Finally, in this song, I can hear that wonderfully ironic overtone of country music that used to be the jewel of the Magnetic Field's Repertoire.
The best line ever: "And take me to the airport I need to be extremely far away."
Why does this song sound Christmas-ish to me? |: I love it.
Couple things: I think the lyric is 'It's such a pretty old ring' rather than 'little old ring'. Also, I just love the image of this rich Romantic bastard not getting what he wants. A wealthy man that is still capable of love is a beautiful thing.
just getting into this album, might be one of the best albums ive ever heard. and this song is superb
