Kodachrome Ghosts Lyrics
I found some old photographs
In a box on a shelf
While I was looking for something else
We were smiling for the camera
On a street in a town
It's a place I can't remember now
When that hour comes around
How will you, how will you get through
My mind is already full of all the things
I never said, never said to you
History of Kodachrome Ghosts
I thought I had layed to rest
A dream half remembered
When, when you overslept
Pictures cling to my mind
1980's christmas day
You were younger than I am today
Now I'm hear in this room
With you're life on my knees
A shoebox full of memories
Some things you gave me
I will take, I'll take to the grave
My mind is already full of promises
We didn't think to make, didn't think to make
History of Kodachrome Ghosts
I thought I had layed to rest
A dream half remembered
When, when you overslept
In a box on a shelf
While I was looking for something else
We were smiling for the camera
On a street in a town
It's a place I can't remember now
How will you, how will you get through
My mind is already full of all the things
I never said, never said to you
I thought I had layed to rest
A dream half remembered
When, when you overslept
1980's christmas day
You were younger than I am today
Now I'm hear in this room
With you're life on my knees
A shoebox full of memories
I will take, I'll take to the grave
My mind is already full of promises
We didn't think to make, didn't think to make
I thought I had layed to rest
A dream half remembered
When, when you overslept

I had a small problem figuring out the first words of the chorus. A history of?? It started off?? I can't make out what James is saying there, although its probably obvious to anyone else :P I love this song, dunno why the lyrics weren't up already. I love the nostalgic feeling of the song, and I think it's probably about James' mum, maybe about Richie. The best verse in my opinion is the one that starts "Pictures cling to my mind...", its so brilliant and sad at the same time, and we all have a shoebox. Great song
I don't think James wrote this lyric, I'm sure it was written by John Niven, author of the fantastic Kill Your Friends and who co-wrote Emigre and Still A Long Way to Go. I agree that it's about some one leaving/dying and finding photos some years later that evoke memories, some good, some bad.
And I'm pretty sure the chorus starts 'Stirring of Kodachrome Ghosts'
