Growing a Girl

I'm so worn out, if you keep pushing me from seed to shoot -
I'll be so tired that I can't take root...no, I can't take root.
Then you put me in a darkened room, too much water, hardly any food,
I'm afraid that's where I draw the line -
that's not how you treat a girl of my kind...no, not of my kind.
Then someone kindly turned on the light.
It's like I'm in some kind of a dream -
where all I see's reflections of me... is all I really wanted to see.
Then you put me on a rotating plate, like the ones you find in your microwave -
it helps ensure that I get enough light,
but it 'make'(s)me quite dizzy.
All of my days...of 18 hours or more - and all of my nights, I sit here getting bored.

Got this feeling in a month or so - you're really gonna let me down -
hang me from the ceiling upside down...
and sell me to all your friends!
Well, I'm afraid that's where I draw the line -
despite the fact it makes a real big mess!
