I think this perfectly sums up the heartbreaking feeling of loving someone and having them not return the favor...at least in the way you'd prefer (romantically.) I really like this song- it's soo pretty.

I'm thinking that he's talking to a girl that, has probably kissed him, is afraid to commit to anything. and he's telling her that he can't go back in time and erase the kiss because she means more than alot to him.
This song reminds me of my best guy friend. We hooked up to get rid of feelings for eacherother, It was spose to be a one time thing, And It happened twice, then I realized how much he ment to me now we arn't as close. And its hard, but this song reminds me of him.

I feel like the lyrics are much too romantically reminiscent ("it felt so good waking up beside you"/"the way that you kiss") to necessarily be about "the friend zone" or unrequited love. I think it's about a break-up. Like, they were together and happy but she now wants to just be friends, but he's still in love with her ("And it's never going to be the same, again…")
