"The mind of a serpent swallowing tail" Hello Ouroborous; the whole image of the dragon swallowing its own tail...the unity of the album, the lyrical mastery; I should get this thing. Of the 3.5 songs I've heard ("Goliath" is the 0.5, "RTF" took away the surprise of it...plus "Back Up Against the Wall"), the magic of the music has only come more alive since Amputechture.

definitely inspired from an ancient ouji board..theyve actually managed to make some songs creepier than before. haha.. if i never heard TMV and i heard this blast in my room in the middle of the night i would get so freaked out..

The first thing that came to mind for this song was when I heard the lyric "might of a serpent swallowing tail, cycle recycled and I'm next to nothing". It's an obvious reference to the ouroboros and perhaps how humanity seems very little in the scheme of the universe.

Of course, this song can easily mean a million different things. But it's definitely a good precursor to Ouroboros and a great ending to Cavalettas and Agadez.

Do you think this is some clue as to where the Soothsayer is? I wouldn't think it would be in the lyrics if there was a clue because Cedric didn't want Omar to tell him where he buried it. But then again they like to collaborate together when writing lyrics. I think if it were anywhere it would be a carefully placed guitar lick heard only when Cedric sings a line about a location. The guitar lick could be likened to numbers and then translated through simple numerology into letters and then an actual location. Although, they may not have wanted the location to be disclosed. To anyone. Least of all us hungry un-trustworthy fans.
