"To me, this song is about a life of sexual abuse, depression, and heartbreak. Its like a life story of a woman who is now at this point in her life where she is now a stripper, maybe her soul is numbed now and she is beautifully broken. she can only think of the melancholy nostalgia and her broken soul

and now she is trying to hold back as she sees this insensitive guy who doesn't care anout her whatsoever. just her body. a sexual object. and all she can think about is how this guy only wants to fuck her and can't even come to his senses to see the pain that is in her life and soul. a strange twist on the sexist akon song. well done by them.
I have a question, and I thought it was appropriate to ask it hear. In the Live version of this song, sometimes Bianca (Coco) sings "Simon, my brother..." Now, when I heard her say 'Simon...' I immediately thought back to their other song, "Lemonade", where in the live version of that song, she sometimes also adds the name "Simon" after singing - 'It sped round every corner Calling out his name... This made me question who Simon is exactly... and whether what the opening lyrics mention in "Summer Breeze" is what happened between her and Simon, her brother... I don't know, can someone help clarify whether Simon and the events based around him are real,or whether he is rather a personification or made-up character for thematic symbolism...?

Though the lyrics is very tough, actually I do not see any direct links to the fact of incest, at least what concerns her father, (cf Fatherhood 'You never were a violent type'), but brother was also in the song. And there are as well lines in Here I Come: Surprise me like a monster/My brother liked to scare me/A rape in the meadow/A fornicating fellow. Again, the word 'brother' was used in a very strange context. But on the other hand, there were much more cases of usage of lexis with positive connotations - 'my brother, my only kin', 'angel brother, I miss your hair, careless nature gentle stare'. And what all of this is supposed to mean then? In the end we just get a cocktail of controversial and sometimes mutually exclusive facts. If you ask me, I think that CocoRosie have a sort of so to say mythology of their own in their lyrics, and some facts of their biography just blend into their lyrical universe making inseparable whole. And it is art first of all, not a biography in verse. So if any answer exists, we hardly can find it in the texts.

It's obvious they are trying to convey the message of pain and abandonment. Since Bianca studied linguistics and Sociology it really gives her an edge in her lyrics. Everyone. Everyone deals with covering up pain on a daily basis, this song just makes you remember that you are.Peace. -Todd

I was also interested in the connection to their half-brother Simon, who died before they started their third album The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn. That album is supposed to be partly about that. And of course Lemonade starts out being about Simon's death.
But Bianca does NOT sing "Simon" in this song (Summer Breeze). In every recording I've been able to find online, she sings "started with my brother". So I don't believe this song is autobiographical at all, which isn't strange considering that Bianca didn't use to be a stripper who was hooked on dope.

yes its a cover, and its only on youtube as far as i know, and i don't think it's called Summer Breeze.
From what I've seen, it seems to be called "Summer Breeze" when Sierra raps the "You see my trying to smile..." part, but is called "You Wanna Fuck Me" when that part is sung rather than rapped.
