It's like the singer found someone so special to them, so unique, that maybe if no one sees the value in it(Thrift store reference), he does, and he wants to keep it forever, he wants to keep her with him forever(sleep in you tonight). and he wants everyone to see how much he loves her(all my pictures). i think it's possible also that the girl was treated really badly, and she was hurt by a million guys before him, but he doesn't need to worry bout her getting hurt anymore, cuz she's with him and he'll treat her right ("don't care how you were worn Cos i got you on my back now And from my body you won't be torn")
