Love the hints about what we can expect in the next Portal/Half-Life.

I love GLaDOS... this is by far the best song in any video game (unless they go all out in Portal 2) What does it mean? Well... GLaDOS is still alive, doing science on poor victims, making cake, and burning up poor campianion cubes. As for releasing on time... GLaDOS is "enhancing the truth" once again. Valve never releases on time

"Oh, it's you. It's been a looong time. How have you been? I've been very busy being dead, you know after you murdered me?! Look, we both said a lot of things you're going to regret, but I think we can put our differences behind us, for science, you monster." -GLaDOS; Portal 2

a disturbing, messed up song, and one of the, in not the, most awesome credits songs ever. Definitely very open-ended and vague, but i still love it. Of course, it's all very self-explanatory if you played the game, but i'll dissect it anyway.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED. Though I doubt you'd be here if you didn't play portal.

GLaDOS is happy that you destroyed her, apparently. Chell has far exceeded the AI's expectations, and pushed the program out beta with the data she has provided. GLaDOS must have learned some very important things about portals and their use while Chell was running around.

The "ones who are dead" probably refer to other test subjects and Aperture science employees, and maybe our friend WCC. The neat gun obviously refers to the portal device.

GLaDOS goes on to talk about the boss fight, and also says she's rather stay inside. During the fight, GLaDOS says things "What's going on out there will make you wish you were back in here!", maybe referring to the combine, or maybe she was just making it up.

GLaDOS also announces that she plans to continue with her testing. It sounds as if she might have more subjects or that she might clone more. And she rubs it in our faces that she's still alive. Around the cake were more of the spheres we destroyed. They all looked like the curiousity sphere, but the color might not mean anything.

This song is vague, and leaves a portal 2 a very open possiblity.

i LOVE this game! it was hilarious! love the song too!

the basic jist of this somg is that GLaDOS is not only still alive . . . but immortal! Also GLaDOS has lots of work to do before Portal 2

if there's anything i've learned from playing portal it's that GLaDOS in general can be a snarky, sarcastic, lying AI, and this song is no exeption. she's basicly going on about how you (silly human that you are) think you've beaten her but you really havent. how your breaking out dosent faze her one bit and in the end she's the one that truly wins. though in reality this is the exact opposite, you really have beaten her and it drives her crazy on the inside, makes her want to kill you but she's to proud too admit it. its what makes her so ironicly human and the reason we love her in spite of her constant verbal abuse. At least that's what i gather from it all. :)

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
