It's clearly about Dana, and his dealing with her death, but man, this song always gets to me. Especially when he starts to yell, at the 'And I've been waking up at night beside this nervous tick..' part. Gah, Shane Henderson is amazing, and it's really awful about what happened to Dana. :[
uhh this song is so powerful. his words just get to me so much. i'm also coping with a death. and this whole album has just helped me out oh so much. i thank him truly for writing this whole album. he's helped me truly. he's helped me look at this situation in a positive way and not negative. he's so amazing and such a inspirational person.

it was his girlfriend, dana leigh burrell. she died in 2006. she was only 18.
