I think this song is about a woman who has broken up with someone that she wants to keep in her life as just a friend. But when she is around him it is hard for her not to want him back.

First of all i looove this song. I listened to it a few times before i realized it sounds like it's about her being abused by someone. When people are abused a lot of times they feel like they did something to anger the person that's where i think the whole "i'm sorry" part comes. and maybe she caught the abuser on a bad day and said something to them that made them mad and they abused her. and she still loves the person but she has to do what's best for her health.

This song is my favorite song of all time. It's just one of those songs I can really relate too.
