I'm ready to try this
The center's a sea pit
I could be wealthy
With nothing to stop me

I'm ready to try this
(I move underwater)
The center's a sea pit
(I eat water slaughter)
I could be wealthy
(Inside a moon and palace)
With nothing to stop me
(Let's rain another chalice)

[Chorus]
Out and out and out
Out and out and out
Shake a fist
And let's breathe it in without

[Chorus x3]

You said if I tried this
(I'd be teleported)
But when you first tried this
(Your mind de-contorted)
And if this is heaven
(I might have to tell you)
I'm gonna give hell, just
(A quick one's over)

[Chorus x4]

"Before we go any further
I'd like to show you all a game I made up.
This game is called 'Sounds of the Studio'.
And it can be played with any record
Including this one. You may be surprised!
Now if you have a pair of headphones
You better get 'em out and get 'em cranked up
'Cause they're really gonna help you"

That's a pure solution
That's my magic potion
That's the incantation

That's a pure solution
That's my magic potion
That's the incantation

Bahhhh

[Chorus x4]

You said if I tried this
(I'd be teleported)
But when you first tried this
(Your mind de-contorted)
And if this is heaven
(I might have to tell you)
I'm gonna give hell, just
(A quick one's over)

I'm ready to try this
(I move underwater)
The center's a sea pit
(I eat water slaughter)
I could be wealthy
(Inside a moon and palace)
With nothing to stop me
(Let's rain another chalice)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
