Behave! Lyrics

Okay stab.
Okay stab.
And please me, I don't care how.
Stab me and please me now,
Oh, with your mouth.
Big bad ate in a prison room.
He's just itching to telephone you,
Oh, with his mouth.

Behave, behave.
I don't know quite how to behave.

Patience, patience.
Leaves me with dross to bear
Leaves me, I don't know where.
Then it leaves me out.

Distance, distance.
Oh, leaves me, I'm ashamed to say.
I make a mess on the stage with my mouth.

Behave, behave!
I don't know quite how to behave.
Behave!
I don't have a clue how to behave when I'm around you.
Behave around you.
Behave around you!

I disagree woth most of the comments here. Scott has said on multiple occasions this album as well as their second, Midnight Organ Fight, are breakup albums. I don't think this song is an exception. It's not a matter of being cute about a new love but instead about drifting apart and being uncomfortable with someone who was so important in the past.

He says he doesnt know how to behave, innitially talking about the relationship. He then moves onto patience, waiting and trying to mend things. Eventually he goes on to distance or separation, saying he makes a mess on stage (since every song Frightened Rabbit had at this point is about her) and back to not knowing how to behave, this time because of them not being together and being unable to fix what was wrong.

In the song Yawns, he talks about how they no longer can even hold conversation and how they have drifted apart to the point where yawning is more likely than knowing how to act. This song follows in the same vane. It's not him falling in love, it's him falling apart from someone he loves. It's an overview of them falling apart.

Why does this song have no comments?! i love this tune, it's so adorable.

It should have more! I'll agree, it's a great song. Not knowing how to behave near someone, I like the way you can relate it to so many situations- people you like but they don't know, people you like but shouldn't.... yeah, so good.

i love this song. completely conveys the idea of not being able to handle yourself around another person without overdoing it and making it sound corny!

My Opinion

I think it's "Okay stab, okay stab.....stab me and please me now." And later it sounds much more like "Leaves me with dross to bear," not "leaves me with a cross to bear."
