obviously, if we look deep into this, there is a demon - or a moose, if you will- that he must slay in order to 'answer the phone' which is forgotten slang that loosely translates to "work." the fact that he cannot "get to work" obviously leads to the assumption that he is the 'moose' that needs to be killed.
