Space Transmission Lyrics

You must listen very carefully to what I have to say.
There isn't much time, because You Know Who
has consumed all the instruments.

For many eons now I have been trapped on this planet.
He is keeping me here against my will, and sometimes
when I press my ear up very close to the concrete
I can hear his daughters sobbing with laughter.

Either I am blind, or I have been in darkness
ever since the sun exploded fourteen centuries ago.

A few hours ago, He Who Keeps Me Here visited me saying,
"God, why do the millions worship you instead of I?
Am I not more powerful, more forgiving and truly compassionate?"

A black liquid was seeping uncontrollably from my mouth
and all I could do was babble incomprehensibly
about a dream I had many moons ago.

In it, a clock ticked constantly, maddening my senses.
That was all, but it lasted for many days
until each tick seemed like fragments of glass piercing my scales.
He Who Keeps Me Here tells me that one day I will return to earth,
and then I will seek my revenge.

Absolutely spine-tinglingly artistic, this piece. I FREAKED the first time I heard it in pitch black in my bed.

It's God speaking. But God has been deformed and mutilated by this being that has enslaved him. Enslaved God. That's incomprehensible.

This is a masterpiece.

I can only assume that since the subject is an abstraction (i.e. God) The abductor is also an abstraction - perhaps he stands for atheism or entropy, oblivion, something like that. Personally I think the element of having scales is simply an arbitrary element meant to add an element of shock to the piece, and to carry the chilling ambience around that part.

This is what I think about hearing this song:

The devil is in fact who the populous of earth worship, though they portray him as a 'god'. And god is in fact in chains in the depths of hell. On earth it would appear that the phenomenon being worshiped is 'God' where only hatred is cast toward the true God, who is chained in hell. (Thus it would appear that the populous of earth has been tricked into a role reversal via the actual Devil) The Devil is still envious that God had such a large role in the society of earth hence '“God! Why do the millions worship you instead of I?' However because the Devil has replaced God (but has done so so that the populous of earth is unaware) he must be assigned the title 'God'. He is not able to rein over with his original title. He is envious that his actual name is not in use.

This is probably tricky to understand.

Regardless this track is absolutely interesting and I love listening to it.

If anyone has seen Spirited Away, I associate the importance of 'names' in such a way as they do in the movie.

Enslaved God, I hadn't thought about that. Of course, since he addresses him as God. Haha.

Whenever I listened to it, it seemed like they were a prisoner of Satan of some sort, trapped in hell. Then i'd get confused at the end about them having scales and wanting revenge on the Earth.

Really interesting piece though, I agree.

Mmmm. Well I figured... "Space Transmission"... so maybe... Idk? Some supreme ruler of whatever planet is who's keeping the speaker hostage, && maybe the prisoner used to be human, but some aliens abducted him && experimented on him to make him some mass weapon of destruction && thats why he's all scaly, && thats also why the guy who talked to the prisoner said he would return to earth again... to destroy it?....

&& YES! Creepy! I still get goosebumps listening to this. Especially that effect when the voice alternates coming out through the left then right ear piece one at a time.

&& Hi Corey. xD

Oh, and also the ending would appear that God is upset with the fact that 'his' humans so readily betrayed him and were so easily lied to. I think he is upset with the gullible nature of his creations.
