Paris in the Morning Lyrics

I’ll show you Paris in the morning
I’ll show you London after noon
If you feel your Dublin heart is burning
Yeah, well, you don’t have to worry ‘cuz we’re going there, too.

It turns out mona lisa, she ain’t ugly
Yeah, but she can’t get much loving from the wall
If some stranger tried to take you from me
Yeah, well, first I’d rescue you and then I’d punch him in the jaw

We tried to sink in with the locals
It turns out they ain’t mean, but they still don’t know
Yeah, but I will do my best to speak the language to the rest
Yeah, so I can buy you flowers, baby, everywhere we go

A magic clown does tricks outside the fountain
And the children can’t believe what they just saw
Yeah, but as for all this weather
We don’t need this damn umbrella
‘Cuz we’ll be kissing by the water, feel the water as it falls

Cover art for Paris in the Morning lyrics by Joe Purdy

Well, I'm going to Paris, and this song is more than about Europian travels.

It's about sharing moments of happiness and discovery with the one who love. Granted, a city like Paris offers more moments than most cities, but buying flowers and kissing in the rain are universal romantic gestures.

Paris is just the catalyst in that case (it could be London, or Dublin, ...whatever). If you're sharing it with the one you love, it makes all the difference in the world.
