Side Of The Road Lyrics

Half dead,
And a third alive,
A quarter ticking over on the middle by the side of the road,
Don't get surrounded by people you hate,
Choke you out the house down the path and out the garden gate.

Well I'll never, never, not once when we're together,
one gun punks on vogue at the side with the bands and the vans and the gangs and the clan with the monkey man high with a little girl at his side.

What is it that you're doing to me, I don't know, I know, I know, I know, I know, there came a truce and tea

Well I'll never, never, not chop those two together, with wheeling dope just do it on the side.
With the bands and the fans and gangs and the clan with the monkey man high with a little girl at his side.

Well I'll never, never, not once when we're together, waiting on the dole
As he's queuing up inside ... innnnnside ... graveyard.

Half dead,
And a third alive,
A quarter ticking over on the middle by the side of the road

To the previous commenter: Are you quite insane? I've just listened to this song (Side of the Road) and Skag Trendy next to each other, and, shock of all shocks--this sounds NOTHING like Skag Trendy, except for perhaps the fevered pace at which both Doherty and Webster sing. The Babyshambles influence is obvious in The View's music but I really don't see what you're talking about with it sounding "just like" Skag Trendy.

It might be of interest to you, however, that Side of the Road sounds very much like a re-written and clearer-recorded version of Dilly Boys, from the 2004 Whitechapel Demonstrations.

I, personally, find the new album to be much better than Down in Albion--which I also enjoy immensely.

there's a version of this on the Babyshambles Sessions (Disc 1: track 8) which dates back to 2003.
