the apple tree Lyrics
I got you so I'm okay
It's a lovely garden and I wanna stay
Nothing out there anyway
People come, people go
What they're thinkin' I won't ever know
Doesn't matter I'm not in pain anyway
How lucky to be so unusually free
You and me under the apple tree
It's a lovely garden and I wanna stay
Nothing out there anyway
What they're thinkin' I won't ever know
Doesn't matter I'm not in pain anyway
You and me under the apple tree

i love this song. i can't believe no one has commented on it yet. it sounds so delicate, so sweet. i've been listening to it over and over. one of my favorites!
This song somehow sounds both "sweet" and "sinister" - almost psychotic. It's always had a very dark undertone to me.
Then I read "The Collector" by John Fowles (a little late, I know) and the lyrics remind me so much of that book. Right down to the title of the song. So, I suppose it seems even more dark and tragic yet hopeful in its insanity.
I don't know. I love this song and I wish that more people would hear it. It's so simple and nice but the mood is incredibly complex, in my opinion.
