I Still Ain't Over You Lyrics
out of luck and out of tune
half the day and I confused
love may wash away the blues
but I still ain't over you
damn the day that I forgot
came so close then almost lost
It's been one year and 14 months
but I still ain't over you
hey i'm the blood in your veins
i'm the cold when it rain
i'm your heart when it breaks
but time, no it ain't on our side
i'm the truth to your lie
i'm your tear when you cry
back and forth and side to side
right ain't wrong if wrong ain't right
i will love you day and night
'cause i still ain't over you
hey i'm the blood in your veins
i'm the cold when it rain
i'm your heart when it breaks
but time, no it ain't on our side
i'm the truth to your lie
i'm your tear when you cry
'cause When the walls come crashing in
When the flames come closing in
Just remember, time and again
I still ain't over you
hey i'm the blood in your veins
i'm the cold when it rain
i'm your heart when it breaks
but time, no it ain't on our side
i'm the truth to your lie
i'm your tear when you cry
half the day and I confused
love may wash away the blues

i think the one year and fourteen months thing is him trying to pretend that it hasn't been as long as it has been since they were together. he's trying to glance over it, and reassure himself that after a year and a bit it's still okay to not be over her. but he can't admit that it's been two years and two months.
this isnt about him talking about his ex or someone he once loved. this is about his current wife, and the fact that even though they've been together for such a long time he "still isn't over her." the one year 14 months is when they met, if you see them perform live now he changes it to however long it is now. really pretty song, the original version of this though is much better
he's talking about his ex, and how he still isn't over her. a simple but rele good song

i think this song is about moving on yet knowing your heart is still somewhere else, with a different person. sometimes it's really hard to find the heart you gave to someone... and loving again could be even harder.
love this song. :)
don't understand the one year fourteen months thing. but I guess it fits structure nrhyme...
@lovelybones It's his way of fooling himself that it hasn't been over two years.

'Hey, I'm the blood in your veins' - all this time I thought he was saying 'Hey, I was born in Ukraine'. Lol.
Heard it on the radio tonight, Had to find out who sang this. Amazing song.
i like to think this is a song about his current relationship about still being in love.
It was enlightening to hear someone say this isn't about an ex. It's about his current wife and he changes the dates to reflect that. That's very romantic, and puts an entirely new spin on it for me... but a song's original intent isn't always what it is "really about". Once it enters the public arena, it can become something different based on how it is heard by the listener-- and that interpretation is just as valid. From that standpoint, this song remains one of the most romantic "lost love" songs, about a woman that may have moved on, but her lover can't. And to be fair... the artist may have intended that meaning originally but after he married, adapted a new "spin" to keep his new mate happy. Either way, it's neat to think it can be viewed two opposite ways. It's happier to think it's about a current relationship, but far more heart breaking to think it's about a former relationship. For me, it will always be the latter.
