Run Rabbit Run Lyrics
I saw a fox by the rabbit hole
You saw a prince from a fairytale
He promised that he’d watch over you
Turned out to be the fox we all knew
Too good to be true, what chance did you stand?
Take flight, turn tail, get out while you can
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
He’d dance to your beat, and steal your heart
And smile with those teeth and tear you apart
Hounds on your heels, you daren't stop for breath
You'll wear yourself out, 'til there’s nothing left
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Ahhh
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back,
Don’t look back. don’t look back,
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look
Don’t look, don’t look back
Oooooh
You saw a prince from a fairytale
He promised that he’d watch over you
Turned out to be the fox we all knew
Take flight, turn tail, get out while you can
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
And smile with those teeth and tear you apart
You'll wear yourself out, 'til there’s nothing left
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back,
Don’t look back. don’t look back,
Don’t look back
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Run rabbit run, as fast as you can
Don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Don’t look back, don’t look
Don’t look, don’t look back

First discovered this band thru Live at Abbey Road show. I loved their music so much I bought the album on I-tunes. They said on the show that this song was about girls who fall for guys that everyone else around them can see they are not good...gonna break their hearts, mess them up, etc (I'm paraphrasing) but they just don't see it or refuse to. For some reason, maybe it's the magical sounding melody...but it always makes me think of Alice in Wonderland. Would be good for the Tim Burton version soundtrack. But I really love this song and band.
No comments? "I saw a fox by the rabbit hole You saw a prince from a fairytale" Seems to be talking about an abusive relationship, or just someone a bit sleazy. The girl can't see him for who he really is..
This song kinda reminds me of me. People are always warning me away from guys but I never listen. All I ever see is this "prince" who is gonna sweep me off my feet and take care of me... but then he always turns out to be the fox everybody told me he was.
Girl can't see her boyfriend's a nasty piece of work. Pretty clear meaning.
Maybe he's trying to tell himself to not look back at what he was before he met a certain someone. and this person seemed different than what they were so once he found out they were a decietful fox, he began to run and he doesnt want to look back on what that fox made him run to, or run into, or become.

Hmms experienced this myself. Lovely guy who you are told by ALL your friends he's gonna break your heart and what do you do? Go out with them. Then they break your heart. Turns out to be the fox we all knew....
