Childhood Lyrics

Beginning of the end,
But the harvest was my friend.
The nature of that place,
Sends a sweet smell,
Around my head.
Oh well.

The hardest thing of all,
The harbouring of our loss.
Hiding all the time,
We were cast out of everywhere,
But not last time,
Last time I remember,
the last time I remember,
It was gone.

How I want you to know,
How far west we will go,
Hand in hand let it low,
All our days in the slow.

All my toys are dead.
Unraveled at the stairs,
Open but who cares?
Why-hy-huh-huh-hy?

Cover art for Childhood lyrics by Beach House

"..., the last time I remember, It was home."

= What I'm hearing.

Additional note: best Beach House song. Using one word to describe it, I'd choose "wistful."

or "gone" ?

@ryandaily Gone makes by far the most sense imo. People ask, "when was the last time you saw it?" when you lose something. "The last time I remember, it was gone." Childhood~~

I agree, 'It was gone'

Last line in the 3rd verse I hear: 'All loyal days end slowly'

I always heard "...it was warm." However, "home" and "gone" both make much more sense I guess. Beautiful song, either way.
