We Killed It (feat. Andy Jackson) Lyrics

The girl can move
And she did
We were captives on a casino ship
Where the midwest lay out hours and burnt to a crisp
I spent a year as her hair-lip
but now I fall apart at night
and dream about our trip

But the first two weeks were great
I felt content to
watch the entertainment channel fornicate
With flashes of you maturning into staged, flawless masterpieces
Built of dreams I swore were memories

And I dream
I dream I dream

I saw the ocean envelop the sky and blot the sun out the day that we died
The former, the latter and all in between
They were vanquished by loki the fiend
But do you remember me?
Do you remember me?
The one that you loathed when he set you free?
Do you remember me?
Do you remember me?
the one with whom you fell beneath the sea

Yeah we killed it,
We killed it all night
All night, yeah
We killed it,
We killed it all night
All night, yeah
We killed it
We killed it all night
All night, yeah
We killed it,
We killed it all night
All night

The first song that really struck me from the album

-not surprising as it's the first one xD-

I like the clean vocal break later on. I think that really works. The drumming is really soild for some reason. And we have some background vocals going on which is always good.

And song meaning?

Well seeing as it's the first song on the new album and the lyric is :

" Do you remember me?"

It's not hard to work out (good job on lyrics btw)

i think that, the whole album is like a transition over time, like in the church channel song he remembers a girl from the previous album, then he moves on to shiksa, then falling out of love then to we killed it, and then we have at thee when he talks about getting drunk, then the hangover song where he talks about fucking up his life but thats just what i see when i listen to the cd in its entirety.

The 'hair lip' line to me is so odd. Does anyone else find it odd?

it is odd, lol, but there's lots of odd things in his songs. :)

Thanks, I find the hair lip line odd as well. Its a song that goes from the great feeling of relationship straight to what it feels like when a girl drops a bomb on you. It's not really that metephorical but amazing.

say anything uses murder and killing as a metaphor for sex... so. yeah. that's what it's about.

I think by "I spent a year as her hair-lip", he meant that at the beginning she was embarrassed & destested of him/their relationship.. "But now I fall asleep at night & dream about our trip", but now she's comfortable around him & likes him yadayada.

Or atleast that's what I got out of it haha.

let me first say some of the lyrics are wrong.

I stole the ocean, and filled up the sky. I put out the sun on the day that we died.
