Six Gun Quota Lyrics
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
I find it hard to live with all my choices
It's time to turn a deaf ear to those voices
Did you ever think to ask my opinion (Yeah!)
Did you ever think to ask if I'm ok
I burned down every bridge that I found
Now I limit myself to a six gun quota
I played down every feeling I felt
and I bottled them up til the well ran over
Yeah! Yeah!
Give every indication that you're mended
Take every rule you come across and bend it
Did you ever think to ask my opinion (Yeah!)
Did you ever think to ask if I'm ok
I burned down every bridge that I found
Now I limit myself to a six gun quota
I played down every feeling I felt
and I bottled them up til the well ran over
I burned down every bridge that I found
Now I limit myself to a six gun quota
I played down every feeling I felt
and I bottled them up til the well ran over
It feels so good to be numb
Whoa-oh I hate what I have become
Whoa-oh it feel so good to be numb (Whoa-oh)
I burned down every bridge that I found
Now I limit myself to a six gun quota
I played down every feeling I felt
and I bottled them up til the well ran over
I burned down every bridge that I found
Now I limit myself to a six gun quota

I think "burned down every bridge that I found" is about cutting ties with the people who disregarded him, all the dead weight he had to get rid of in his life. To me, "six gun quota" makes me think of a small group of friends worth keeping close.
This song is amazing. It sums me up so well. I've never be comfortable talking about how I feel and this song epitamizes such feelings.
I think this is saying he bottles stuff up inside and trys to keep everything under control.
Def one of the best on the new album.
You are stupid
You are stupid
You are stupid
You are stupid
I think your stupid...because you have to make your point twice for someone to consider it

ur an idiot they are better than ever
Describes me all too well. I never tell anyone whats going on in my life.
I see "six gun quota" as a six pack of beer. If you read the rest of the lyrics; it's certainly feasible. IMHO
I agree with IwriteToo. 6 Gun Quota is a Six pack. This song is about Shaun getting through his alcohol problem, limiting hisself to a 6 pack.
This is my second attempt at writing the comment, because the first time, I noticed something that changed the song to me.
I agree with the getting over his alcoholism interpretation, but I think it's deeper than that. Could this song possibly be an attempt to fix things with Amy Lee?
"I find it hard to live with all my choices"
Alcoholism cost him his relationship with Amy Lee and it's hard to live with the pain from that
"It's time to turn a deaf ear to those voices"
He doesn't want to listen to her song, Call Me When You're Sober, anymore because it reminds him of that pain
"Did you ever think to ask my opinion (Yeah!) Did you ever think to ask if I'm ok"
This could be intended to make her feel guilty or sympathetic, realizing that she didn't do all she could to help him out.
Then the chorus goes like this:
"I burned down every bridge that I found"
Again, alcoholism cost him his relationship with Amy Lee
"Now I limit myself to a six gun quota"
A response to Call Me When You're Sober, saying he is getting better.
I played down every feeling I felt and I bottled them up til the well ran over"
His explanation (or excuse) for his problem
"It feels so good to be numb Whoa-oh I hate what I have become Whoa-oh it feel so good to be numb (Whoa-oh)"
That part is just a continuation of his excuses.
That's what I get out of this song. Anyone is welcome to add to it if they find something else.
very nice take on the song...puts it into perspective a little bit more. Nice job

r_bloodworth, man it's not like they sold themselves out or anything. their music is brutal and honest and they've never softened their image for the big mainstream radio. they're a loud and proud 3-piece band from south africa. sure they have a few songs that have managed to get onto mainstream radio, but listen to the lyrics of Fake It and you'll see that it's actually playing down mainstream popular music/artists etc.
I'm torn between this album and Karma and Effect as to which is the better. Karma seemed much heavier, but the lyrics in their latest effort are...deeper? nah i can't say that, Karma and Effect's lyrics were just as deep. Give them some credit for their talent, don't just hate because their sound seems to have changed a bit.
need i not mention that their album covers are always pretty cool to look at? XD
