Mr. Pitiful Lyrics
Oh Mr. pit
Oh Mr. pit
Mr. Pitiful
Who let you down?
Who let you down?
Who let you down?
You still don't believe
You don't believe
You don't believe
That greed's for a show
Your soap box unfolds
But, please come down from that cloud
You see at all I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong
Just wanna know how you've been
Don't make me feel bad that we're still friends
Started it all over in my bed
I hope that you see through your picket
I hope that you see through your big yard and white picket fence
To make amends, to still be friends, to still be my friend
So where did you go?
Where did you go?
Where did you go?
While I was out
While I was out
While I was out
Well I don't believe
I don't believe
I don't believe
Everything was seen
And if you don't like the movie then quit acting
But, please come down from that cloud
You see at all I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong
Just wanna know how you've been
Don't make me feel bad that we're still friends
Started it all over in my bed
I hope that you see through your picket
I hope that you see through your big yard and white picket fence
To make amends, still be friends, still be friends, to still be my friend, still be my friend, still be my friend
Oh Mr. pit
Mr. Pitiful
Who let you down?
Who let you down?
Who let you down?
You don't believe
You don't believe
That greed's for a show
Your soap box unfolds
You see at all I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong
Just wanna know how you've been
Don't make me feel bad that we're still friends
Started it all over in my bed
I hope that you see through your big yard and white picket fence
To make amends, to still be friends, to still be my friend
Where did you go?
Where did you go?
While I was out
While I was out
While I was out
I don't believe
I don't believe
Everything was seen
And if you don't like the movie then quit acting
You see at all I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong
Just wanna know how you've been
Don't make me feel bad that we're still friends
Started it all over in my bed
I hope that you see through your big yard and white picket fence
To make amends, still be friends, still be friends, to still be my friend, still be my friend, still be my friend

I LOVE THIS SONG. :]
It's just like... About someone who's feeling sorry for himself, I think.
absolutely correct )

I have the linter notes.
It's...
It don't make me feel bad that we're still friends
To make amends And still be friends, still be my friend
Near the end, the cloud thing is the same as before.
But please come down from that cloud you're sitting on
not "but please come down from that cloud, you see at all"
All of En-Lee's corrections are correct.
The video for this song is adorable.
I think it's about the narrator's friend "growing up" and becoming a typical yuppie with a nice house ("big yard...picket fence") and all those boring things. The friend sounds kind of stuck-up, and the narrator is working around that. "I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong" and the soapbox statement lead to me to believe that the friend is egotistical and thinks he's the shit, and the narrator plans to let whatever happened in the past go (I'm assuming that the friend fucked up in some way) in order to remain friends with the person. The narrator isn't into the typical monotonous "adult" stuff, but still wants to be friends with his yuppie friend, who sort of is. I don't think the friend is completely, because the line "You still don't believe and your grievances show When your soapbox unfolds" imply that the friend isn't as happy about his life as he usually pretends he is. And his yuppie facade is pitiful....BAM!! There's the title and opening lines. The "I just want to know how you've been....Still be my friend" section is about the narrator wanting his friend to get off of his high horse so they can make up and rekindle their friendship.
I could be entirely wrong.
I think the narrator is calling himself pitiful.
most definitely ).

wow this is a great song! and i bet it can have lots of meanings! but to me, i can relate to it. because of a breakup i had. and for some odd reason, this fit my situation. i didn't care if we were going to be together or not.. but i just wanted to know how things were going.. and over time, i just wanted him to know that im not the bad person... im just here like i've always been. his fried. :]]
I think you got some of the lyrics wrong.
(I put asterisks next to the lines that I changed)
You still don’t believe You don’t believe You don’t believe And your grievances show * When your soapbox unfolds
But, please come down from that cloud You're sitting on I don’t expect you to admit that you were wrong Just wanna know how you’ve been Don’t make me feel bad that we’re still friends Mulling it over in my bed
Well I don’t believe I don’t believe I don’t believe Everything I see And if you don’t like the movie then quit acting*

i loooved this song since i first heard it! soo fun and upbeat and.. kind of reminds me of cold war kids/beirut?
luv it kids.
ok so this friend suddenly feels superior or recently got rich or something haha and is acting egoistic and yea
bitch.
i think instead of
"But, please come down from that cloud You see at all I don’t expect you to admit that you were wrong"
that it's "But, please come down from that cloud You're sittin on I don’t expect you to admit that you were wrong"
see i think this song is about a guy who broke up with a girl cuz she did him wrong but at the end they remained friends n he hopes he didnt make a mistake for stayin friends just my theory.
