Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf Lyrics
Shakin' like the Devil when she lets me go
Got a new place and how it's so much better.
Falling over myself, the televisions on,
I turn it off and smile.
Oh, Jennifer, you know I always try
Before you say goodbye
Leave the bourbon on the shelf.
And I'll drink it by myself.
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you tight.
Give me one more chance tonight
And I swear I'll make it right.
But you ain't got time for this
And that wreckin' bell is ringin'
And I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you
Jennifer, tell me where I stand
And who's that boy holdin' your hand?
Oh, Jennifer, you know I'll always try
Before you say goodbye
Leave the bourbon on the shelf.
And I'll drink it by myself.
And I never liked your hair or those people that you lie with
And I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you tight
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see I can't be satisfied
Until I hold you tight.
Leave the bourbon on the shelf.
And I'll drink it by myself.
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see
I'm not satisfied.
Got a new place and how it's so much better.
Falling over myself, the televisions on,
I turn it off and smile.
Before you say goodbye
And I'll drink it by myself.
And I love you endlessly,

Until I hold you tight.

And I swear I'll make it right.
But you ain't got time for this

Until I hold you tight.

And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see
I'm not satisfied.

I adore this song. It's the perfect beginning to The Murder Trilogy. Now, I'd like to share my interpretation on the trilogy and see if anyone agrees with me. 1) Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf
Woooow. Sorry for how long that was...I understand if you didn't read the whole thing. And if you did, thank you for taking the time!
"So I'm not totally sure how he got her in the car with him after they broke up."

He did that by promising to take her to a midnight show. She probably thought it was a concert or something.

Yeah, I submitted these lyrics, but I managed not to read them at all. I haven't heard nothing but a 30 sec clip, and that's as far as I'm going until Sawdust comes out. I'm sure this song will completely blow my mind. :D

It's about time. I'm so glad that after for waiting three years, it turns out it's awesome.
Although based on what I've heard, the second line is wrong. It should say something like "Got a new place, and how it's so much better," reflecting on how Jennifer's moved out.
It's an interesting song. It's great seeing how the Trilogy is introduced. It seems either one might be an alcoholic, or he needs the comfort of alcohol to ease his pain.
He discovers Jennifer (Or Jenny, as we knew her) with "that other boy holdin' your hand?". He wants another chance with her but she won't let him. This probably puts him in a terrible mood for revenge, to continue with Midnight Show.
