we're not sure at this point what the implications of "los[ing] it" are, but the fact that she's said that there aren't many words for people like her suggests that her reaction is strange or odd

I think this song is about the spiritual connection. About gaining all modern and "normal", yeah as described above..lost the purity (virginity) of her soul. She is modern, she have fun, she lives modern life with all modern pleasures...but lost her soul, spiritual meaning, where she came from and all other true human qualities. Sad song and it is connected to everyone of us, if we think deeper on this...but definitely a masterpeace.
