Tao is the correct way of spelling it, it is pronounced “dao”, and it’s a Chinese word. Tao comes from the Chinese philosophy of Taoism. “The Tao” is the idea that the world and everything in it is connected, kind of like “The Way” in Buddhism. Tao is the natural flow of the world.

This song is very, very beautiful, this maybe my favorite song.

It’s basically talking about how even though the human race has fucked up pretty bad with the world. That when were gone, the world will survive what we’ve done to it.

I have to say this song is so well put together. I especially like the lines, “We are the cause of a world that’s gone wrong / Nature will survive us human dogs after all” and “Wouldn’t is be great to heal the world / With only a song”. Serj did very well on this song, there is no doubt – it is really amazing.

i some what agree with adombomb on the meaning. yet being a hunter and a Serj fan puts me in a humorous point. following not only family tradition but the respect for nature instilled from scouting and living in a rural landscape. I know what he's getting at, the Tao and Zen/one to me stands as being connected to nature. and knowing how to be responsible in dealing in such events. if only deer or Antelope could drive and hunt humans, then the challenge would truly interesting. though for now i'll focus on conservationism and the ancient tradition of thanking the the spirit of the animal for it's sacrifice. something i know not many follow nowadays
