So I'm wondering why people don't know about Alter Bridge. All aspects of the band are solid. Drums are clean and clear, Bass is deep and always on cue, Guitar is heart felt and face melting, and Vocals impeccable and full of emotion. Alter Bridge as a whole... the most melodically focused and in tune band out there right now.
Song: To me, everything about this song is about being "together". "Me and you"... "us"..."we"... Look at all the "we" references:

And that's just the first verse. This is about two people, who either by their own doing or the world's, need to make a brand new start. We all get pulled down in relationships, again sometimes it's by other people or life situations and sometimes we hurt ourselves. This is about the two people putting their past behind them, putting the weight of the world behind them and having a "brand new start"... together.
As far as the band, I agree with alot of the earlier comments. You have bands that are led by one outstanding musician, a singer or a guitarist usually. That is NOT AB. Top to bottom all are outstanding musicians. I can't bear to listen to the first album after hearing Blackbird. Adding Myles' song writing and guitar playing to an already impressive band put them over the top. Although you can tell there are different styles in the mix. They compliment each other perfectly.

It is awesome. I bought the CD today. It's fucking amazing. Definitely one of my favourite albums right now.
Priam, everytime I mention this band to people, they immediately write them off as Creed 2.0 and don't give them another glance. I try to tell them this stuff is so so much better than Creed, but a las, I get nowhere with them....idiots...
Just when i was thinking one day remains album was the best thing ever to come out from post creed, then here comes the 2nd album which is seriously completely rock-out! m.kennedy has 1 of the best rock vocals out there currently, perfect tone, pitch and awesome vocal range. Indeed a brand new start from the band as i can see their letting loose on this album more.
guyz same happens to me. i always want to describe this band to my friends but they ignore it just like a joke. this band is awesome i think this is the band of the century. the way these guys perform its absolutely amazing. the voice of myles is full of pain and his lyrics is much much better than any other band in the world today. this band is much better than creed im very proud of tremonti that he highered this myles kennedy as the vocalist of alter bridge. all members of the band are amazing their work is priceless. i luv this band so much.
i couldn't put it any better myself Priam. this band is amazing, they do kind of sound like creed, but they are so much better and so much more clear. i am a big fan of creed and also alter bridge, but alter bridge definitely wins.
I think this is about someone who has just broken up with their signifigant other and has to start again with the broken pieces of their heart

dont mind my friend but i dont think that there is something in BLACKBIRD album which reminds me that creed and AB are lil bit similar bands, one day remains has some materials which creed used when creed was present, but BLACKBIRD is 200% diffrent from creed thing. thats what myles himself said that it was our first goal to stay away from that creed materials and make our own identity and thats what they did. and they've done amazing.
