This song is my newest obsession. It's rare to hear an uplifting song from John. And it's got a New York connection, too. ;-)
I think its about his girl leaving town (for college or something). He's worried she'll stop loving him ("if you lose the spark") or find someone she likes more. Thats why he's reluctant to let her leave, and keeps reminding her that "No one loves you like I do".
