Hard Rain Lyrics
The words came like a hard rain.
And your smile changed like a hurricane.
Your breath smells like cardamom.
And the words came just like a hard rain.
I recall you said you missed me.
I was afraid I acted desperately.
I recall you said it for hours.
Then again it doesn't matter.
I never tried, I never dared, I wish I'd said something.
But I've been standing outside your door,
at least that's something.
Your breath smells like cardamom.
And the words came just like a hard rain.
I try to tell myself at night when the dusty old pictures are all out of sight that I think I will be alright. Just don't come closer morning light.
And your smile changed like a hurricane.
Your breath smells like cardamom.
And the words came just like a hard rain.
I was afraid I acted desperately.
I recall you said it for hours.
Then again it doesn't matter.
But I've been standing outside your door,
at least that's something.
Your breath smells like cardamom.
And the words came just like a hard rain.

This is def my favorite song off the cd. It's really beautiful and to me it's about a weird relationship that is on the rocs.
rocks*
Without a doubt my favourite song from these folks. I can listen to this all day! For anyone who's ever failed to do something that they truly wanted to do, this song should speak volumes.
I loved you. You liked me too once, I think. I remember. Then you suddenly changed. You became harsh and bitter... (Cardamom is a strong spice, and I think bitter also.) Maybe it was something I did? Maybe I loved you too passionately? I'm holding back now. I want to say something, to fix us, but I don't know what. Till then I'll just reminisce of what we used to be, but tell myself I'm okay without it.
I think that's what it says. Then again... Maybe I'm going to far into it.
Cardamom is actually similar to ginger and cinnamon - sweet. I think that plays to the idea of words coming like hard rain. You can always smell it (a nice smell to most people) right before it starts pouring down on you.

Everything else is pretty much explicitly said in the lyrics.
