Facing Up Lyrics
I use no exaggeration
Clearly hanging by a thread
And I'm running low on patience
But don't go blame it on yourself
I wish I was in my right mind
But I've left myself unnecessary chores
I make it bad when it's just fine
I was whole and sure now I'm clearly torn
And there's nothing left for me to do
Right and left both bring me to
The center of my deepest fear
Where the truth is oh so clear
Embracing inescapable truth
And that's facing up to you
And truth is so cruel
Continual irresolution
Keeps me shackled to the ground
And I've been in dire need of revolution
For far too many days to count
I thought I was safe in my hiding place
But it sure is exhausting, living in chains
It's paradoxical in every way
Nothing makes sense
I can't tell love from hate... and there's
Nothing left for me to do
Right and left both bring me to
The center of my deepest fear
Where the truth is oh so clear
Embracing inescapable truth
And that's facing up to you
And truth is so cruel
I'm begging myself to make something out of it
I give up still unable to comprehend
My own true will
Nothing left for me to do
Right and left both bring me to
The center of my deepest fear
Where the truth is oh so clear
Embracing inescapable truth
And that's facing up to you
Facing up to you
Facing up to you
Facing up to you.
Clearly hanging by a thread
And I'm running low on patience
But don't go blame it on yourself
But I've left myself unnecessary chores
I make it bad when it's just fine
I was whole and sure now I'm clearly torn
Right and left both bring me to
The center of my deepest fear
Where the truth is oh so clear
Embracing inescapable truth
And that's facing up to you
And truth is so cruel
Keeps me shackled to the ground
And I've been in dire need of revolution
For far too many days to count
But it sure is exhausting, living in chains
It's paradoxical in every way
Nothing makes sense
I can't tell love from hate... and there's
Right and left both bring me to
The center of my deepest fear
Where the truth is oh so clear
Embracing inescapable truth
And that's facing up to you
And truth is so cruel
I give up still unable to comprehend
My own true will
Right and left both bring me to
The center of my deepest fear
Where the truth is oh so clear
Embracing inescapable truth
And that's facing up to you
Facing up to you
Facing up to you

great song.no lie but when she sings this you have to listen reallllyy closely to understand what she's even singing.
I think it's about a person she had feelings and that big moment that comes when you have to face up to or confront the person whom you felt for but hurt you....she knows the outcome is only going to hurt her, but that hurt is "inescapable".
It seems pretty easy to understand, so that's what I got.
So, with the number of comments, this isn't one of her most popular songs, but it's my favorite one. I really like the piano in it.
The title tells the general meaning. She needs to face up to this person to find out the truth, and it's the scariest thing she feels she has to do.
I don't think it necessarily has to be about facing up to a person that you felt romantic feelings for, though.
The lyrics are brilliant, and the music compliments it nicely.
I do have a question. Is is just me, or does the second time the part "the truth is so cruel" is sung, is it sung by someone else? It sounds like a guy to me. It's much different than the first time its sung. I really like how it sounds, but it just doesn't sound like her. It might just be me.
I left this song on repeat for so long, my iPod started to jump at the begining. :D I absolutley love this song. Who wouldn't?
