Count to 10 Lyrics

Taken from the album 'These are the facts'

Close your eyes and count to 10
My mouth has spoken without asking my mind again
For the second time today
I've dug a hole that i must fill with an apology

But now its far too late
voices declare that they
will not negotiate

They talk of pride before a fall
Not every battle is critical to win a war
Tomorrow i know i'll agree
But now the stronghold has taken control of me

And now its far too late
Voices declare that they
Will not negotiate

Reasoning has been lost
Somewhere along the way
You have made your mistake

Close your eyes
Count to 10
Close your eyes and count to 10

Close your eyes
Count to 10
Close your eyes and count to 10

Tonight i feel im going to be
Throwing punches with far too much honesty
Throwing punches just because
We've come this far theres no way im giving up

And now its far too late
Voices declare that they
Will not negotiate

Reasoning has been lost
Somewhere along the way
You have made your mistake

Close your eyes
Count to 10
Close your eyes and count to 10

Close your eyes
Count to 10
Close your eyes and count to 10

Close your eyes
Count to 10
Close your eyes and count to 10

Close your eyes
Count to 10
Close your eyes and count to 10

Great song, i think its just about a guy who has a kind of anger problem and can't control his fists basically. A few mistakes possibly ... 'Tonight Matthew I'm going to be' rather than 'Tonight i feel I'm going to be'

'We've come this far now, there's no ..... rathar than 'We've come this far, there's no .....

Cheers ... but great tune

No no no no, commonly made mistake. It is in fact "Tonight I Feel I Going to Be", it's the tempo of that section.

The song uses the metaphor of war, in order to show the hostility of a break down or disagreement within a relationship.

The "Count to 10", is a way of saying to the partner that it'll all be okay. This is like when you tell a child to close their eyes and count to ten, an all will be better.

It's okay I'm f-ing good!

No no no no, it's definitely Matthew.

Stars in their eyes? No?
