Next Time You See Her Lyrics

She's got everything a man could ever ask for.
She is lovely, brighter than a morning star.
She is so beautiful, portrait of a sunset.
She got everything, including my old car.

Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time you see her, tell her that I care.
Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time I see you, boy you'd better beware.

I'm just trying to warn you that you're bound to get hurt.
I couldn't be her last love, so how could you be her first?
I want to tell you, buddy, things are bound to get rough.
I know that she's only flirting, but I think that I've had enough.

Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time you see her, tell her that I care.
Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time I see you, boy you'd better beware.

And if you see her again, I will surely kill you.
And if you see her again, I will surely kill you.

Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time you see her, tell her that I care.
Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time I see you, boy you'd better beware.

And if you see her again, I will surely kill you.
And if you see her again, I will surely kill you.

Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time you see her, tell her that I care.
Next time you see her, tell her that I love her.
Next time I see you, boy you'd better beware.

I like this song a lot, but it makes me think what a jerk Eric Clapton is.

Cover art for Next Time You See Her lyrics by Eric Clapton

I don't understand how he (Clapton) could be making these death threats to some guy in light of the fact that he, himself (years earlier) stole the wife of George Harrison (who was his best friend at the time), Patti Boyd. This really seems very hypocritical to me.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Eric Clapton. But this really gives me cause for concern. It's kind of like the Stones' song, 'Sympathy for the Devil'. That was a song that should never have been either written or recorded by ANYONE. Let alone the Stones ----- who could arguably have been considered the best rock band of all time ---- had it not been for that piece of garbage.
